About Severn Barloco, MD

Dr. Severn Barloco is board-certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He earned his medical degree and completed his surgical residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Barloco continued his training with a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Prior to joining CommonSpirit, Dr. Barloco was in a private group practice in Pueblo, Colorado. Dr. Barloco shares his personal philosophy of care, “Illness and injury often happen suddenly and can be frightening, as can the prospect of needing surgery. These conditions can affect time with family as well as one’s ability to work and to enjoy other activities. I feel privileged to provide an intervention that helps patients return to the life and activities they enjoy. Whenever possible, I utilize a minimally invasive approach in order to minimize recovery time and to achieve the best possible health outcomes.”

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Barloco enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Together they enjoy a variety of sports including soccer, skiing, hockey and golf.
